Harnessing the Opportunities of Radioligand Therapies: Key Insights from SPARC-Europe's Event

On 2 May 2023, SPARC-Europe organised the event “Harnessing the opportunities of radioligand therapies: infrastructure and education” at the European Parliament, hosted by SPARC-Europe Patron MEP Helmut Geuking.

The event gathered experts, policymakers, and stakeholders in the field of radioligand therapies (RLTs) in order to assess how enhanced hospital infrastructure, educational projects and EU regional funding can facilitate the adoption and accessibility of this treatment.

The report encompasses the key insights and discussions that took place during the event. These include the need for better information and awareness about the treatment, unequal distribution of treatment centers, the importance of multidisciplinary care teams, inadequate infrastructure in Italy, and the role of EU funding in improving healthcare.

The event was artfully moderated by Ms Mariam Zaidi and featured insightful interventions by Ms Anne Lendermann, on behalf of MEP Helmut Geuking, Mr Mark McDonnell, Prof. Nicola Fazio, Prof. Maria Luisa De Rimini, Dr Arturo Cavaliere, MEP Brando Benifei, Mr Marco Di Donato, and finally Prof. Deroose.

The event was organised with the support of RevoLuTion, the Italian Scientific Board, and establishes the upcoming collaboration between SPARC-Europe Alliance and RevoLuTion.
